LIVING + WORKING LOFT
SOBE. MIAMI BEACH
INTERIOR DESIGN. ARCHITECTURE. CUSTOM WOOD + METAL WORK
CUSTOM LIGHTING. CUSTOM MOLDED CONCRETE FLOOR TILES
In a Morris Lapidus building in SOBE I lived and worked for many years. Lapidus was primarily known for his Neo-baroque "Miami Modern" hotels constructed in the 1950s and 60s which have come to define that era's resort-hotel style. Famously known for both The Fontainebleau & Eden Rock hotels in Miami Beach. The Fontainebleau Hotel's famous pool was featured in the Bond movie Goldfinger
showing life then.
The loft's defining features were the fluted pivoting and semi-round doors specially designed. Also, an all encompassing central bath+shower+sink custom built stainless unit, made the bathroom feel more like a spa.
"Hi tech goes to the beach, this shipshape loft in Miami's historic district - the first loft in South Beach"
